On Wednesday June 10 ,2026 Al-Khwarizmi College of Engineering inaugurated the second student conference and capstone project exhibition titled “capstone projects- Shape the future”, to integrate the academic education with diverse job sectors, develop higher education outcomes, support students` innovative ideas and highlight scientific and creative achievements.
The conference proceedings witnessed remarkable attendance. the event began with recitation of the holy Quran followed by national anthem, then the dean of Al-Khwarizmi College (Professor Dr. Wadoud Taher Muhammad) delivered a speech welcoming the attendees, and appreciating their efforts in supporting capstone projects. Among the attendees were the representative of the university president, dean of Artificial intelligence college Professor Dr. Ali Hussein Ali, as well as representatives from public and private sectors.
Moreover, the dean emphasized the importance of capstone projects which link the academic side with the job market needs, as they involve innovative ideas, and engineering solutions that can be employed to develop both public and private sectors. The dean also highlighted the significant role of faculty members who supervised these projects and the noticeable efforts exerted by students in producing projects that reflect the level of the scientific advancement achieved by the college. The dean also expressed his sincere appreciation to the former deans of Al-Khwarizmi for their efforts which contributed to the development of the academic process and enhanced the college position among educational institutions.
Later, the capstone project fair was inaugurated by the dean, heads of the scientific departments, representatives of public and private sectors, faculty members and the dean assistants. They toured the classrooms and laboratories designated for this event to review these projects and listen to students’ explanations of their concepts and scientific achievements. The visitors emphasized the importance of encouraging students to continue such kind of creativity and innovations, which contribute in serving society and supporting development.
