On Tuesday, February, 24, 2026 The assistant professor Dr. Ahmed Zidan, a lecturer from the department of automated manufacturing engineering at Al-Khwarizmi College of Engineering, Baghdad University, participated as an external examiner in the doctorial defense committee, for the Ph.D. candidate (Reem Sabah khazal) at the department of production and metallurgy engineering, the university of Technology.
The dissertation demonstrated design and fabrication of fixation systems for damaged cranial implants using 3D printing techniques, where new models have been designed for implant fixation in cranial bone and examine it both theoretically by cutting – edge simulation programs and practically by testing its capabilities in handling different loads, in line with the use of medical techniques in production engineering fields.
The committee is composed of the following members:
- Professor Dr. Abas Fadil Ibrahim, Chair
- Professor Dr. Ali Munther Mustafa, Examiner member
- Assistant professor Dr. Ahmed Zidan, Examiner member
- Assistant professor Dr. Khalidah Kadhim Mansoor, Examiner member
- Assistant professor Dr. Muhanad Qusay Abood, Examiner Member
- Professor Dr. Wisam Kadhim Hamdan, Supervisor
- Assistant professor Dr. Marwan Nafi Ali, Supervisor
The results indicated that new designs succeeded in achieving cranial implant stability and performing advanced statistical analysis for 3D printing parameters. A degree of pass with distinction was warded to her for the findings.
