On June 25th, 2023, Al-Khwarizmi College of Engineering organized a special distinguished ceremony (Al-Khwarizmi Award) in the Central College Hall honoring the founding professors, pioneers and former deans, in the presence of Prof.Dr.Munir Al-Saadi, the rector of University of Baghdad, and Prof. Dr. Wadood Taher Mohamed, the Dean of Al-Khwarizmi College of Engineering, and a number of figures from the university presidency and the deans of the faculties of AL- Jadriya Campus in addition to the former deans of the college, professors, faculty members, and the students of departments presenting their graduation research. The Al-Khwarizmi Award ceremony began with a verse from the Holy Quran, Surat Al-Fatihah, playing the national anthem, showing an introductory film about the college, its scientific outputs, and the buildings of departments and laboratories. A speech by the rector of the University and the Dean of the College praising the continuous creativity in the scientific movement and the constant pursuit to keep up with modern technological developments was delivered. The Dean of the College also praised the efforts made by the teaching staff of the various scientific departments, evaluating their discreet scientific projects that serve the requirements of the labor market. After that, gifts, shields and certificates of appreciation were given to the founders, pioneers and the former deans of the college in addition to the professors of scientific departments participating in projects and also to the distinguished students participating in researches and projects. It is worth noting that the Al-Khwarizmi Award ceremony was organized in coincide with the anniversary of the founding of the college on the third of June, 2002.
