In an interactive and celebratory environment filled with accomplishments and dedication, Al-Khwarizmi College organized the annual central celebration of Al-Khwarizmi Prize for Excellence on Tuesday, July 1st,2025, and for the academic year 2024-2025, that expressed a remarkable annual station for honoring excellence and creativity, including all fields and members at the college.
The celebration witnessed the attendance of the university president’s assistant professor, Dr. Suhel Najem Abdulah, the president of Uruk Private University, Professor Dr. Qais Saeed Al-Sabbagh, and some faculty members and personnel, guests, and invited parties. They were well received by the dean of the college, Professor Dr. Wadoud Taher Muhammed, and his assistants, in addition to the head of the departments.
The celebration commenced with reciting the Holy Quran, then Al-Fatiha in remembrance of Iraq and the Higher Education Ministry martyrs, followed by respectful standing to the national anthem.
Through his speech, the president emphasized the importance of this prize in boosting the course of academic research inside the college. He also highlighted the positive impact on the staff and encouraged them to move forward. Moreover, he expressed his gratitude for the prominent role of the college among other colleges at the university in terms of research and development.
Furthermore, the dean valued the dedicated efforts exerted by the faculty members and staff and emphasized that the prize becomes an academic tradition founded to uncover talented staff and award those with special accomplishments in a way that aligns with the vision and mission of the college in supporting scientific research and developing the educational process.
The celebration included honoring several faculty members, personnel, and students who have made significant contributions either accredited research paper or applied projects serving society and the job market within the college
and university during this year. Accordingly, it was mentioned best research, the best employee, the best faculty, and the best student graduation project in a celebratory atmosphere.
At the end of the ceremony, the dean of the college expressed his thankfulness and gratitude to the members of the preparation committee who contributed in organizing the event, represented by professor Dr. Muhammed Abed Attiya Al-Sarraj for their exerted and exceptional efforts that reflected high professionalism and eagerness to present Al-Khwarizmi prize in the manner it sincerely deserved.
This prize is considered one of the distinguished initiatives that have been launched by the college to encourage scientific competition and enhance excellence performance, and it is part of the college’s vision in strengthening the quality and pioneering standards in engineering higher education.
