On Tuesday, November 4th, 2025, Weightlifting Championship of the University of Baghdad concluded, under the sponsorship of the university president and the manager of the students’ activities department, with a wide range of participation of students from different colleges, including Al-Khwarizmi College, represented by their students and supervised by the students’ activities division at the college.
The championship witnessed a noticeable competitive atmosphere and official attendance of recognizable academic figures, including the managers of the students’ activities department at the Ministry of Higher Education and scientific research, and at the University of Baghdad, respectively, Dr. Hasanain Al-Shadidi and Dr. Ali Sadiq.
The championship resulted in achieving the college of medicine the first place, followed by the college of media, second place, and the college of fine arts the third place.
At the end of the championship, Dr. Ali Sadiq honored the winning teams with trophy and golden medals, appreciating their efforts and exceptional performance, emphasizing, during his speech, the importance of holding such tournaments at the university to promote the spirit of healthy competition between students as well as to grow their physical fitness and sense of belonging, also , highlighting the astonishing level of the championship arrangements.
