On Sunday, October 29, 2023, a master’s thesis entitled “Design and Development of Automated Storage and Retrieval System “authored by student Ali Rashad Hamid from the Department of Automated Manufacturing Engineering was deliberated within the graduate studies discussion room at the college. The committee, chaired by Prof. Dr. Amir Hussein Murad from Gilgamesh University and Al-Ahlia University, along with Prof. Enas Abdel Karim, a distinguished teaching professor, and Prof. Dr. Marwan Ali Salman from the Department of Automated Manufacturing Engineering, supervised by Dr. Osama Fadel Abdul Latif Al-Tadesi from the Al-Khwarizmi College of Engineering, Department of Automated Manufacturing Engineering, carefully assessed the student’s presentation.
The research tackles the challenge of providing practical automation technology experience in engineering education, particularly in resource-constrained settings. It focuses on creating a compact and affordable Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) for educational use. The ASRS employs precise control mechanisms with an Atmel 328p microcontroller and a user-friendly GUI-based computer interface. Following a thorough evaluation, the committee reached a decision to confer an honors degree upon him.
