As a part of the efforts of scientific and research projects of Al-Khwarizmi college of Engineering in the discipline of (alternative and renewable energies), Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Attia Al-Sarraj, presented a scientific project on the mentioned discipline. Prof. Mohammed, who is a lecturer in Biochemical department, discussed a project that included a method of removing salts from water by a reactor and modern equipment. As a novelty, this project utilizes the solar panel system and a low amperage electric pump in a systematic and sequential manner. The approach had been validated based on the result gained by a scientific laboratory. In addition, the project includes a method of cooling the used water after purification and salts removal. This project could be used in serving rural areas and cities where a scarcity of pure water is presented. A momentum of agreement had been signed between Al-Khwarizmi College of Engineering, College of Engineering at University of Baghdad (both are represented by the head of the research team (Prof. Dr. Al-Sarraj)) with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research/Department of Research and Development. As a result, two research papers were published outside Iraq within the containers of Scopus and Clarivate databases.
