{"id":6708,"date":"2026-03-09T06:46:05","date_gmt":"2026-03-09T06:46:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.kecbu.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=6708"},"modified":"2026-03-09T06:46:05","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T06:46:05","slug":"al-khwarizmi-college-of-engineering-held-a-master-defense-on-the-effect-of-3d-printing-process-parameters-on-product-quality-and-production-rate-of-additively-manufactured-parts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.kecbu.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=6708","title":{"rendered":"Al-Khwarizmi College of Engineering held a master defense on the effect of 3D Printing Process Parameters on Product Quality and Production Rate of Additively Manufactured Parts"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 18px;\">On Wednesday, March, 4<sup>th<\/sup> ,2026 Al-Khwarizmi College of engineering held a master thesis defense in the field of Automated manufacturing engineering titled \u201c<strong>Effect Of 3D Printing Process Parameters on Product Quality and Production Rate of Additively Manufactured Parts\u201d<\/strong>, for the master candidate (Mustafa Taha Khudaer) at the defense hall, where a degree of passing with distinction was awarded for his research findings.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 18px;\">The committee is composed of the following members:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 18px;\">Professor Dr. Ali Hussein Muhammad, Chair<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 18px;\">Assistant Professor Dr. Salah Salman Abdelkarim, Examiner<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 18px;\">Lecturer Dr. Yahya Muhyi Hamad, Examiner<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 18px;\">Assistant professor Dr. Karim Nimah Salumi, Supervisor<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 18px;\">This thesis shed lights on the accelerated development of 3D printing techniques, which make a revolution in the field of modeling and additive manufacturing, but it still faced a substantial challenge represented by achieving balance between production rate and final products quality. Moreover, the study highlighted that most literature focused on the effect of layer thickness and printing speed, while paying less attention to the acceleration variable, however, its importance in improving productivity.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 18px;\">This thesis investigates how the combination of speed, layer thickness, and high acceleration influences the efficiency, surface finish, and mechanical reliability of 3D-printed PLA. The research highlights that high acceleration is a primary driver of productivity, it can reduce print times by up to 45%, though it can negatively impact surface finish.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 18px;\">The study also determined the optimal values for operating parameters to achieve balance between mechanical properties and productivity through adopting thin layer thickness, moderate acceleration, and high printing speed.
