The thesis titled &#8220;Gantry Robot and Conveyor System for Grasping Objects of Different Dimensions and Orientation,&#8221; and the student was awarded a pass with merit for his research findings.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 17px\">In this thesis, an automated system is proposed consisting of an XYZ gantry robot equipped with infrared (IR) sensors, force-sensitive resistors (FSR), and inductive proximity sensors, designed to measure and handle objects of varying sizes and textures. The system operates in an open-loop control mode in real-time, meeting the requirements for responsiveness and accuracy in industrial applications.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 17px\">The system was tested on five different objects (BOX1\u2013BOX5) under various environmental conditions, including light fluctuations and mechanical vibrations. These results demonstrate the system\u2019s ability to detect objects and sort them in industrial environments.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 17px\">The system is also applicable for sorting, inspection, and automated assembly in smart factories. The thesis further proposes enhancing the algorithm through adaptive control strategies for improved performance in different industrial challenges.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 17px\">The thesis aims to improve object classification and detection using smart sensor techniques, reduce environmental factors affecting measurement accuracy, and develop a control system for precise grasping of dynamic objects.
