Rushd Hamid Majeed’s master’s thesis from the Department of Automated Manufacturing Engineering was discussed on December 21, 2023, in the graduate studies discussion room at the college. The committee, headed by Prof. Dr. Haider Abdel Hassan Al-Adhari from the College of Materials Engineering, University of Babylon, included Assistant Prof. Dr. Azzat Abdul-Razzaq and Prof.Dr. Karim Nima Saloumi from Al-Khwarizmi College of Engineering. The thesis was supervised by Prof. Dr. Salah Sabih Abdul Karim from the same college. Following the student researcher’s presentation of his thesis entitled \u201cStudy of technological variables of TIG welding to improve durability of weld joint\u201d, the committee announced that the obtained grade was \u2018very good\u2019.<\/span>
\nThis thesis focuses on improving the durability of TIG-welded SS316L joints by studying key technological variables, utilizing the Taguchi L9 method for efficient experimentation. The study employs ANOVA analysis to identify significant parameters affecting joint durability, with the ultimate aim of optimizing TIG welding variables. Destructive testing methods, such as bending, tensile, and hardness tests, assess weld connection durability. The findings contribute to understanding the relationship between technological variables and SS316L weld durability. The Taguchi L9 technique and ANOVA prove effective in optimizing the welding process, offering practical guidance for welders, engineers, and manufacturers to enhance the quality and reliability of welded structures.
