Human Rights Unit<\/h3>

A brief description of the Human Rights Unit at Al-Khwarizmi College of Engineering <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Human Rights Union is one of the administrative and scientific units that aims to promote human rights concepts among students, faculty members, and personnel, as well as foster a culture of justice, equity, and respect for others in accordance with international and national standards.<\/span><\/p>\n

The unit aims to instill human values within the university environment, promoting the university’s role in shaping a generation committed to social responsibility through education and awareness activities, in coordination with respective authorities.<\/span><\/p>\n

Duties of Human Rights Unit \u2013 Al-Khwarizmi College of Engineering.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Promoting a culture of Human rights<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      \n
    • Organizing workshops, symposiums, and awareness lectures for students and staff.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Preparing educational materials (brochures, posters, e-posts) on human rights concepts.<\/span>\n
        \n
      • Promoting humanitarian values within the university environment.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
      • Fostering justice principles, equity, and mutual respect inside the college.<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Detect any case related to discrimination, rights violations inside the university, and report it to the concerned bodies.<\/span>\n
          \n
        • Liaising with Human Rights institutions<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
        • Collaboration with The Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) and respective organizations to boost mutual activities.<\/span><\/li>\n
        • Participating in conferences and activities related to human rights domestically and internationally.<\/span>\n
            \n
          • Including concepts of human rights in educational activities.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
          • Proposing inclusion of materials related to human rights as part of some modules or student projects.<\/span><\/li>\n
          • Boosting scientific research related to human rights issues in engineering and the community context.<\/span>\n
              \n
            • Following up on complaints and counseling.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
            • Receiving students\u2019 or staff complaints about violations of rights, and forwarding them to specialized authorities if needed.<\/span><\/li>\n
