Engineering Consulting Office unit
About the consulting office:
The Engineering Consulting Office was established at the Al-Khwarizmi College of Engineering / University of Baghdad on April 3, 2004 based on the university order in the letter of the Presidency of the University of Baghdad / Secretariat of the University Council No. (1/A/615). The office is supervised by a consultative body consisting of the Dean of the Al-Khwarizmi College of Engineering (Chairman) and the membership of five faculty members in the college, including the office director, each of whom represents his field of specialization and holds a doctorate degree, and with each member is a work team of holders of doctorate, master’s, and bachelor’s degrees.
Second: Objectives and tasks of the office:
* Objectives :
1- Putting scientific, technical and university expertise in the service of development plans in the engineering fields.
2- Providing a high level of consultation and specialized expertise in the fields of medical engineering sciences and engineering Informatics, manufacturing process engineering. Biochemical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering (Pure and applied).
3- Raising the level of the educational process by urging graduate students to research in vital fields which represents the direction of Al-Khwarizmi College of Engineering.
4- Exchanging experiences with relevant authorities in the advanced engineering field in Iraq and neighboring countries.
* Mission :
1- Providing consultations in the field of plumbing workshop maintenance, heat and surface treatment, and equipment insurance and necessary equipment.
2- Providing consultations in the field of connecting communications and computer networks.
3- Design and create websites on the information network (Internet).
4- Designing database software and scientific and engineering programs.
5- Design and operation of chemical treatment plants and water purification plants.
6- Providing consultations in the field of operation and maintenance of medical devices.
7- Design and construction of automation and robot systems.
8- Design and implementation of automated and regular production processes.
9- Qualifying companies and departments according to ISO 9001:2000.
10- Study the economic feasibility of industrial projects.
11- Providing engineering studies and consultations related to environmental pollution.
12- Designing industrial units for biological processes, bioreactors, filters, and sterilization of all kinds.
13- Design laboratory equipment such as:
– Logic Trainer device
– Digital Strain Meter
-Corrosion Measuring Device
-8086 Microcomputer
14- providing consultations in the field of all laboratory tests that fall within the jurisdiction and work of each of the college’s five departments (biological medicine, mechatronics, manufacturing processes, information, biochemical).
