As a part of participating in the “10+10 initiative between Arab and Chinese universities” supported by The Association of Arab Universities. This initiative is a strategic and educational cooperation between China and Arab world in which ten leading Chinese universities are connected to ten remarkable Arab universities. A meeting was held at North China Electric Power University in Beijing to promote their partnership in energy transition. Representatives from the University of Baghdad and North China Electric Power University attended the meeting such as Professor. Ali Hussein Ali, a faculty in Biomedical department at Al-Khwarizmi College, and professor. Nizar Saadi, assistant cultural attaché in China. Dr. Lee led the team at North China Electric Power University. The discussions directly focused on innovative approaches to transform energy and concentrated on renewable and active energy systems and sustainable techniques that comply with international goals to reduce carbon emissions and environmental sustainability.
Professor Ali Hussein Ali presented a presentation about Baghdad University and shed light on current research conducted at (AL-Khwarizmi, Girls Science, and Ibn Al-Haytham for pure science) colleges in the field of science energy and clean energy in addition to opportunities that opened for students and Iraqi researchers by this cooperation.
Additionally, Dr. Lee Bo expressed the importance of international collaboration in addressing complex energy challenges and he said “by working together, we can develop solutions that benefit both China and Iraq in addition to world energy transition.
Also, Dr. Nizar, the cultural attaché in Beijing, emphasized on the importance of this academic partnership in promoting diplomatic and educational relations between China and Iraq in addition to cultural exchange roles in promoting communication and mutual goals. At the end of this visit, a shield was presented as a gift to North China Electric Power University and Dr. Le Bo thanked this initiative.
This meeting represents a significant step in developing relations between Baghdad University and North China electric power University. As part of the visit, laboratories of North China electric power University were visited including high-voltage labs, wind power generation labs, and lithium batteries manufacturing labs.
