Dr. Heba Muhammad Fadhel, a faculty from the Communication and Information Engineering department, participated in the first specialized conference organized by Warith Al-anbia (peace be upon them) University and in collaboration with Kufa University under the title” Social responsibility of academic institutions for sustainable development and Community advancement”

 The doctor presented a research paper under the title “Engendering Universities Towards Environmental and Social Awareness to Support the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals”.

The research paper demonstrated the role of scientific research in spreading awareness about social and environmental issues and how to interpret academic outcomes into policies and community initiatives that support sustainable development targets. Also, the paper involves a case study of some universities that achieved success in implementing projects of sustainable development.

 This conference, which was held under the supervision of the Holy Hussaini Shrine, aimed to shed light on the role of universities and academic institutions in promoting sustainable development and contributing to improving society. The attendance at the conference was high and most of them were academics and experts in the field of sustainable development. The conference also strived to promote collaboration between academic institutions and society to support integral development targets.
