Scientific promotions are considered in their comprehensive concept and their sober procedures, a duty before they become a right for the teaching staff, because they represent the graphic line of the scientific research process for all teachers and the educational institution to which they belong. This line, which must continually rise to develop the work of the institution and improve its performance and position among Reputable scientific institutions.

Scientific promotions unit have significantly and effectively contributed to the development of the University of Baghdad in the various scientific classifications, as they provide a strong motivation for the teacher and researcher to increase his research activity (research, books, patents, scientific conferences,…) as well as to increase publishing activity in Scientific studies and journals, to increase the advancement of our university in international rankings.

The Academic Promotions Committee took a number of important measures and circulated a number of recommendations that became an adopted work context after their approval by the esteemed University Council, the most important of which is urging to move away from the use of traditional means and boring routine in correspondence and information exchange, which causes delay in work. This is an approach that the government is heading and emphasizing in order to reach an electronic government. Therefore, the Promotions Committee adopted electronic means such as mobile phones or e-mail and social networking sites to direct questions or inquiries.
