On Wednesday, 1/3/2023, the Al-Khwarizmi College of Engineering warmly welcomed Dr. Hanaa Al-Safi, a lecturer from the University of Manchester also affiliated with the Ministry of Health. The reception was led by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and the Head of the Biomedical Engineering Department at Al-Khwarizmi College of Engineering.
The gathering, held in the college council secretariat hall, featured the participation of several professors and teachers from the Biomedical Engineering Department. The agenda included a lecture by Dr. Hanaa Al-Safi, accompanied by a presentation showcasing the practical applications of biomedicine. The presentation delved into the innovative solutions developed to address challenges related to shortness of breath disease, vertebral surgeries, and the design of cost-effective supports for medical and surgical procedures. Additionally, the presentation touched upon their experiences in developing solutions for skin cancer protection against sunlight.
The lecture centered on applied research and collaborative efforts with the medical team at the University of Manchester, particularly in addressing tracheal stenosis among patients in Britain.
In recognition of their valuable contributions, the visiting delegation was honored with the prestigious Al-Khwarizmi Shield and a certificate of appreciation. Prof. Dr. Ali Hussein Qaddouri, the Head of the Biomedical Engineering Department, presented these tokens of gratitude for the fruitful efforts and insightful lecture provided by the distinguished guests.
